1. Who we are

Assured Ireland is part of the Assured Group. Our registered office is:

We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about data protection at info@assuredireland.com.

2. Data we collect

Information you give us

  • Name, phone number and email address when you submit an enquiry form
  • Company name when you submit a business enquiry
  • The service or sector you select on the enquiry form
  • Any additional information you choose to include in a free-text message field

Information collected automatically

This website is served as static pages through our hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs. These may include:

  • IP address and approximate location (country or region)
  • Browser type, device type and operating system
  • Pages requested, the time of the request and the referring URL

If you accept cookies, we also collect anonymised usage statistics through Google Analytics: which pages you view, how long you spend on them and roughly where in the world you are. See section 8. If you reject cookies, none of this is collected. We do not build profiles of individual visitors either way.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.

4. Lawful basis for processing

  • Contract: where processing is necessary to provide a service you have requested
  • Legitimate interests: to respond to general enquiries, maintain our website and protect our systems, where these interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Legal obligation: where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law
  • Consent: where we have obtained your explicit consent

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with:

  • Assured Group entities: where necessary to deliver services or manage operations across the group
  • Service providers: including our web hosting and email providers, who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements
  • Google LLC: if you accept cookies we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, and our contact page embeds a Google Map showing our office. Our enquiry form is also protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that the form is being completed by a person rather than an automated system. In each case Google may receive your IP address and set cookies. Google may process this data on servers outside the EEA, including in the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. See Google's privacy policy and section 8 below.
  • Regulators and law enforcement: where we are legally required to disclose information

6. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiry form data: retained for up to 2 years from the date of your last interaction with us, unless you ask us to delete it sooner
  • Server logs: retained for a short period for security and diagnostic purposes, then deleted or anonymised
  • Website analytics: where you have accepted cookies, retained in aggregated form; raw session data is not retained beyond 14 months
  • Legal and financial records: retained for the period required by applicable law (typically 6 to 7 years)

7. Your rights

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your data where there is no compelling reason for us to keep it
  • Restriction: ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

If you are based in Ireland or the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC). If you are based in the UK, you may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

8. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. When you first arrive we ask whether you accept them. Nothing that sets a cookie loads until you choose.

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to work, and set without consent:

  • ai-cookie-consent: stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie. It records your choice so we do not ask on every page. It holds no personal data and stays until you clear your browser data.

Analytics (consent required)

Set only if you choose "Accept all cookies". These tell us how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4, configured so that IP addresses are anonymised and no advertising or personalisation signals are collected.

  • _ga: distinguishes one visitor from another using a randomly generated number. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_<id>: keeps session state for the analytics property. Expires after 2 years.

If you reject, no analytics cookies are set, no analytics script is loaded, and any analytics cookies from a previous visit are removed.

Third-party content

Our contact page embeds a Google Map so you can find our office. Google may set cookies when that map loads, so the map stays blank until you either accept cookies or choose to show it for that visit alone. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's privacy policy.

The same page uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect our enquiry form from automated abuse. Unlike the map and our analytics, reCAPTCHA loads whether or not you accept cookies, because without it the form can be used to send us large volumes of automated messages. It is used only to tell people from automated systems, never to build a profile of you or to show you advertising. To do that check, Google receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, and how you interact with the page, and may read or set cookies in your browser. That processing is also governed by Google's privacy policy. If you would rather not use reCAPTCHA, you can contact us by email or telephone instead: the details are in section 11.

Managing your preferences

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies: see your browser's help documentation. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use this website, though the embedded map may not display.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), a strict content security policy, access controls and regular security reviews.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
